The degree of the Department of History and Archaeology of the NKUA secures the Pedagogical and Teaching Sufficiency to its graduates in order to allow their professional absorbsion in Secondary Education.
Students of the Department who started studying before 2013-2014 and its graduates are NOT subject to the regulations concerning the obligation for accredited Pedagogical and Teaching Sufficiency and the Degree of the Department of History and Archaeology of the School of Philosophy of the NKUA automatically secures their right to professional occupation in Secondary Education as teachers (PE02 Philologists), as had been in effect before Law 3848/2010.
For those who started studying during the academic year 2013-2014 up to 2018-2019, and in order to secure the Pedagogical and Teaching Sufficiency it is recommended to attend three Educational courses (additionally to the two compulsory base courses) as free elective courses. The two of the three recommended courses have to be ΤΕΚ300 "Educational Psychology" and ΤΕΚ126 "Curriculum. Teaching and Knowledge", offered by the Department of Educational Studies to the students of our Department, in the 5th and 6th semester of our indicative timetable. Students may elect the third of the recommended courses from all Educational courses offered by the Department of Educational Studies.
